Specialization: Sign Language Interpreter - Associate of Applied Science
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Sign Language Interpreter Specialization prepares students with a rewarding career in interpreting to facilitate communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by translating spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
Various job opportunities for prospective program graduates may include K-12 teaching positions, higher education and community settings, doctors and hospitals, court appearances (requires court certification), business meetings, video remote interpreting (VRI), and video remote services (VRS) to name a few.
