The Cosmetology Operator certificate program offers creative knowledge and hands-on training in hair styling, chemical texture, coloring, hair cutting, manicuring, pedicuring, skin care, facial services, safety and sanitation in preparation for state examination. Both classroom instruction and practical skills training will prepare students for employment as licensed cosmetologists, while having acquired college credit hours. The cosmetology program has been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and will offer classes, Monday through Friday.
After graduation, students can explore career opportunities by specializing in one or more areas in the service industry. Cosmetology occupations may include:
- Salon Hair Stylist
- Freelance Wedding and Events Makeup Artist
- Brand Product Representative
- Nail Technician/Manicurist
- Theatrical and Performance Makeup Artist
- Skin care Specialist/Esthetics
- Salon Owner
- Cosmetology Educator
- Esthetician Instructor
- Nail Instructor
