Dr. John F. Carroll Drama Scholarship
Through a generous donation from Dr. Carroll’s family, we are able to honor him by establishing a memorial scholarship in his name. The scholarship is awards two Drama Majors for their merit in theatre. Each student can receive a scholarship up to $1,000 which will be divided between Fall and Spring semesters. Dr. Carroll meant a lot to us here at the college and the Drama faculty and staff wanted his memory to live on in a manner fitting of his commitment and work for the Rio Grande Valley community.

The Dr. John F. Carroll Drama Scholarship relies on the generous donations from our patrons and the community. During our production season, our opening night shows are designated as scholarship night where the box office window proceeds go directly to the fund. With social distancing in place and our commitment to the health and well-being of the community, South Texas College Theatre is producing virtual creative content and productions in place of the traditional live theatre we have done in the past until it is safe for all of us to return back to the stage.
